Jeltje Gordon-Lennox

1956*, Genf

Jeltje Gordon-Lennox is a Swiss psychotherapist, author and trainer. Her speciality areas are psychotraumatology and contemporary spiritual practices. After obtaining Bachelor of Arts and Master of Divinity degrees, Jeltje worked in hospitals in the USA, in religious institutions in Switzerland and in field of communications at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Her personal and professional experiences led her to take instruction in the systems approach to psychotherapy and to train in several body-based therapies and tools for treating people suffering from trauma.

Jeltje writes fiction as well as non-fiction books and articles in English and French. Her non-fiction work focusses on secular ritual practice and the role of the senses in contemporary ritualization. As one of the first to propose secular life event ceremonies (2000) and to train secular celebrants in Europe (2003), she is regularly invited for workshops on contemporary ritual. Jeltje lives in Switzerland with her husband Ian Gordon-Lennox (jazz musician) and their two adult children. She enjoys music, theatre, modern art, reading, hiking, thermal baths and k-dramas.
