Hannah Parr

Hannah Parr is a British-Chinese visual artist currently based in Zurich, Switzerland. Her work reflects and questions the contradictions of the female experience as she has encountered it, as well as her formative years as a painter. Her education began at home, learning from her mother, a gardener and former dressmaker, and her father, a professor in traditional film and animation. She obtained a BA in Graphic Design from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London in 2006 and continued her studies in Zurich, where she received an MA in Fine Arts from Zürich University of the Arts in 2020. Beyond the studio, she engages in social outreach projects. Her experiences in organizing therapeutic hair salon sessions and playful activities at a drop-in center for sex workers in Hackney, as well as managing hygiene and support services for migrant families in Chios, Greece, continue to shape and inform her practice.
