Hannie van den Bergh

1964*, Amsterdam, Netherlands

 

Hannie van den Bergh (she/her) is a visual artist, filmmaker, researcher, and educator.

She works at the intersection of Art, Science and Society. She has extensive experience as a maker and educator to play a role in the discourse surrounding a world in transition. She works with a diversity of clients and target groups to shape an inclusive and diverse society for human and more-than-human. She initiates and supervises transdisciplinary projects around ecology, healthcare, and new technology.

In 2023, Hannie graduated with a Master’s in Education in Arts from the University of the Arts Utrecht (HKU). Her thesis was entitled: Workplace for Radical Imagination, a makerspace where artists and scientists learn with and from each other.

Her award-winning films (in co-direction with Jan van den Berg) have been shown at IDFA Amsterdam, Image Forum Tokyo, Imagine Science Film Festival New York, Brooklyn Film Festival, Pariscience Festival Paris, EYE Filmmuseum Amsterdam, among others.

As a guest lecturer she is affiliated with the HKU University of the Arts Utrecht, Rietveld Academie Amsterdam, Amsterdam University of the Arts, University of Twente, and Utrecht University.
