Kara Leva

Hey I’m Kara Leva (*1990, Kyrgyzstan). I’m interested in auditory, artistic, pedagogical, and scientific aspects of the voice. As a classical singer and transdisciplinary artist, I sing, perform, collaborate, and direct within music-related projects. My work is autobiographical, intercultural, embodied, loving, multidisciplinary, vulnerable, and genre-fluid.
– Studied piano (B.A. – Hochschule Osnabrück, DE) and classical voice (B.A. – HMTM Hanover, DE/ ZHdK, CH), followed by vocal pedagogy (M.A. – ZHdK) and transdisciplinarity in the arts (M.A. – ZHdK)

– Debut in the German-Chinese co-production Ring des Nibelungen – Peking Opera meets Music Theater (world premiere) in Beijing/Berlin
– Collaborator at the Institute of Devotional Arts (Barcelona, SP)
– founded the duo karamooon with cellist Moon in 2025

– Currently based in Zurich
