Sung-Yueh Chou, also known as Moon, is a Taiwanese multi-instrumentalist, composer, and improviser, born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and based in Berlin.

Her music blends classical, jazz, and contemporary genres, weaving diverse influences into her unique artistic voice.

Moon is also focused on interdisciplinary collaborations, striving to expand the scope of her creative work through the interaction of music and other art forms.

Moon began playing piano at five and cello at eight. She studied with Stefan Kropfitsch in Austria at sixteen, before pursuing Classical Cello Performance in Taiwan. In 2013, she moved to Germany to study jazz at HMTM Hanover with Stephan Braun and participated in Yo-Yo Mas Silkroad Project in 2018.

She has contributed to diverse album productions across jazz, pop, indie, folk, and world music, and composed for theater and dance, including the Machts Gut from Woody Mues (Fusion Festival 2022) and the Behind the Frame (2021) video game soundtrack, co-produced with Yuchain Wang.

In 2022, she participated in the UNESCO Cities of Music program and joined the 2023 SPIRIT tour of Feuerwerk der Turnkunst with Ryk. In 2024, she was part of WATERTONGUES in Switzerland led by Kara Leva.

From 2018 to 2022, Moon and her ensemble GRIMM were supported by the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation. Now in Berlin, she performs with Trio Tsching, teaches cello, and leads workshops and concerts. In 2025, she formed a Duo with Kara Leva to explore experimental music performance.
