Tao Hai Yue

Tao Hai Yue is a multimedia artist currently based in Berlin, Germany. She grew up in a southeastern coastal city Hangzhou, China during a period of reform and rapid urbanization. After studying Sculpture in Shanghai Normal Unversity, she pursued an MFA in Public Art at the Weimar Bauhaus University in Germany. Being actively engaged in interdisciplinary creative practices in the field of art and design. Her art practice centers around investigating contemporary issues, including individual and collective memory, migration and conflict. „I try to explore how groups share, inherit and construct memories.“ In different cities, she looks for elements or objects with special collective meaning as her creative inspiration. Her works have been exhibited in China, the United States, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
